We have been learning language now for about 6 months. I would like to report a few signs of progress.
The other night I was awakened by Rob talking in his sleep.(don't worry it wasn't the first time) The strange thing was....he was speaking asianese. WHOA!!! I almost woke him up just to tell him. He was pretty pleased with himself the next morning.
Here in our city, if you want to call a cab, you can either go out to the street and hail one, or you can call the cab company on the phone, give them your address, and they will come to pick you up. We normally just walk to the street and hail a cab, but Wednesday night it was cold and we were tired, so while we got ready to go out to dinner, I called the cab company and they put me in touch with a driver and I told him our address. When we walked out of our apartment building there sat the cab waiting for us. We tried to get in, but the driver said we couldn't get in because someone had called this cab. When I told her it was me, she didn't believe me. I repeated my address to her and told her it truly was me who called her on the phone. She busted out laughing and said she had no idea I was a foreigner, that on the phone I sounded asianese. (at least I know my address really well!)
Addendum from Rob – Okay, so progress for Alicia is being mistaken for a local when she could not be seen while speaking. Progress for me is muttering some barely coherent nonsense while unconscious. That’s the life I live… Oh well, I guess I’ll take what I can get.

Way to go!
That is so funny! Rob - Richard also has those weird dreams that has him speaking "crazy-gibberish-because-I-think-there's-a-snake-in-the-covers" kind of language. Even I need a translator for those!
BAHHAHAHA!!! That is funny! Hank
