OK, OK.....it wasn't manna from heaven, but it was goodies from my grandmother's kitchen. Tonight, we walked in to our common living area and lo and behold....a big, huge package with our name on it!!! Quickly we all gathered around the box, frantically pulling out keys and knives to remove the tape. As the last piece of tape was removed....ummm...something smelled divine! There was a huge "OHHHHH" from all four family members as the lid was removed. Homemade rice crispy treats, no bake cookies, and oatmeal raisin cookies. Fresh from the kitchen of my own Mary Lee....no, not Sara Lee....Mary Lee....best cook in the whole world as far as I'm concerned. There was a great announcement in our shared living quarters. Everyone hurrahed and came out to inspect the goodies. It is unanimous.....my grandmother is the best cook in the whole world.....just ask all of our roommates! You see....I will let you in on a little secret, there are no desserts here where
we are. Something about being healthy. So there is an abundance of salad, fruit and vegetables. We have been here one month and everyone is really craving sugar. Also, we are all going to a place where these types of delicacies will be rare. So Grandmother, all of us going to our part of the world say a big hearty, THANK YOU!!! YOU ARE THE GREATEST!!!! The Bible says....ask and you shall receive....we did!! And remember....Nobody does it like Mary Lee! (hum the commercial as you read that last line)
