The Long Road.....always leads to friends

We have traveled from California to Florida and are now...finally....in Richmond, Virginia. We can hardly believe tomorrow is the day we have been waiting for. We have driven over 3000 miles, put hundreds of dollars of gas in the car, packed and repacked suitcases and the car too many times to count, and listened to hours of music on our ipods. We knew we had been driving a lot when Hudson asked on Friday how long our drive would be today....Rob responded 8 hours....and Hannah says, "Oh, that's not very long." We have them trained well. Here is a little view of what we have seen on our road trip.

So....in the midst of all of this, we have had some great times getting to be together as a family and spend time with people we love. Krista, Phil, Becca, Travis, Reagan, Heather, and Reese...and it all culminated with a special treat this weekend. We spent this last weekend with the Winn family. Andy and Rob were roommates at OBU. We had such a great time visiting with them and catching up after not seeing he and his wife Elisa for about 10 years. Such great friends who you can pick up with after not being together for some time. And it is amazing how God has led them on a similar journey as us and we had some great times talking about places we had all traveled.....unbeknownst to any of us. Hudson and Andy's oldest son, Jackson, became fast friends. They were able to play together all weekend and today Hudson cried when he had to say goodbye.....too many goodbyes lately.

This first picture is of Rob and Andy, and the second is of Hudson with Jackson and his little brother Micah.

The month of January has been so great for us to unwind, unplug, and relax. We are prepared to reengage tomorrow as we begin our training. We are so thankful to have had this time....and honestly, so glad to be out of the car for a while!!
