So, I scoured the internet to find a good recipe. I found one titled "Krispy and Kremey". I took that to mean Krispy Kreme-ish. In the past I have made cake donuts for my family, and they were ok, but a little heavy. Tonight I followed the recipe and the final result was EXCELLENCE!!
I made enough for everyone in the class to have 2, enough for breakfast in the morning, and enough for everyone to sample one tonight. My reward? Hudson said, "MOM, did YOU make THESE? (Ummm....yeah, what have I been in here doing for the last 3 hours?) These are the best donuts I have ever eaten!"
Here is the before picture....
And the after picture.
So....Look out Krispy Kreme!! And....Look out bathroom scales, I may be a little heavier in the morning.

YUM!! I gained a couple of pounds just looking at the pics! Way to go Mom for being such an impressive cook.
Whoa! Very impressive girlie :)
Now what does did YOU make these mean Hudson? You know your mom is a wonderful cook. Those do look good, like the donuts we made when I was a kid. Post the recipe. Be interesting to see if they are the same. We will have to make those when we come over. Pa loves donuts especially glazed donuts. Did you require everyone else to do the cleanup since they got to enjoy the "fruit" of you labor?
Everything makes a memory! I remember my mother making home made donuts when I was VERY small. They too were very good. That was near 60 years ago and that memory is still keen! Now Hudson (and the rest of the family, as well as his class) has those donuts for a memory too! EVERYTHING makes a memory! You know how this brightens my day. Thank you Alicia, I love you (all)!
Well move over, Rachel (Ray?)! I think one of the best parts of making donuts was getting to eat the holes! Did you drench them with powdered sugar?
Thanks to Egg's Dad...I finally found your blog. I love it! It's going to take me forever..but it is a rainy day...what a perfect day to catch up.
You all are so often in our conversations at home. I did not know; however, that you would be here in 2011. So..I'll have to get on that.
You and Rob forever impacted my 4 children as did your mother and father. I truly can say...without hesitation..that you and Rob, your mom and dad, Bro. Bobby, and Rodney and Myrna influenced and changed the direction of my entire family. I am forever grateful for their friendships and for yours and Rob's.
I love you all..wish I could put in words what is in my heart.
Donna
P.S. Krispy Kreme is the BEST!! I'm so proud of your donuts. To celebrate finding your blog and your success on making those donuts, I'm going to Krispy Kreme this afternoon. :) I haven't been in forever.
