Our Front Door

In honor of my good friend Bev and her always beautiful door and yard decor no matter what the season, here is a picture of my front door decorated for Christmas. In this time of "new traditions" for the O Fam, I decided that one of them will be the annual coloring and decorating of our door. Since we have no porch, lawn, or sidewalk, just a metal door and small rug to wipe your feet on this is all we can do. The fun part about living here is that we are the only ones who will decorate with a reference for the true meaning of the season. Here is a picture of our door and our neighbor's door. Not the same.....as if anyone didn't already know where the foreigners live. So, this brings so many opportunities to tell of the REAL meaning of Christmas. As we decorated this night, our sweet neighbor came out and checked out our door then peeked inside at our Christmas tree. As she looked at all the pictures posted on our door, I asked her if she had ever heard the story of the Son and his birth. She told me she had NEVER heard His NAME or His story. Santa, however, is thriving here.

Oooooh, so you're in Mexico!!! I can see that now from the chili peppers hanging on your neighbor's door. haha

That's a great door, btw. And I hope it leads to many more great conversations with your Mexican neighbors!!!

Your door is much prettier (and cleaner).
