I think I offended my mother when I didn't include her on the list of good cooks I know. So, let me clarify....my mom is a very good cook. In fact, she makes some of my favorite meals!! And, she can do so much more than cook. Tonight Rob was talking with the kids about what they liked most about me as a mom, and what they might learn from me that they could use when they are parents. I couldn't help but think of all the things I am today becasue of the example of my mom. So, thank you mom for investing in my life and in turn, hopefully I can invest the same things in my kids lives! I love you....Happy Mother's Day
By the way....I have the best Mother-in-Law there ever was as well. I am truly blessed! I love you too Donna!

I wasn't offended about the omission about cooking... just wanted to get a little accuracy here! and you are the perfect daughter and mother! I can't imagine trying to raise my brood in another country... Although, we did manage to live in 4 different states. I think the drawl in some states even counts for a dialect if not another language. Love U and miss U
MOM

p.s. I miss your chocolate chip pancakes. Roman
We hoped to wish you a Happy Mother's Day via Skype but you were probably busy -- so belated Happy Mother's Day! We heard the weather news but immediately checked and saw your e-mail -- whew. Your prayer request list is inspiring - as is everything you say and do! Great news - Your Dad/Robert will lead worship on Father's Day at So Hills! All here are fine. You're loved and missed. KA
Alice,
Thank you so much for opening up your heart on here. I've laughed and cried reading about y'all's journey.
Your Mother's Day flowers were lovely, and I'm sure the memories of the day were priceless.
You're right- the journey may begin in an interesting manner, yet I know with Jeff's deployment- faithfulness abounds. There will be times a tree is dead in your way, but your vivaciousness will be shared with your children and husband, and I know you will all find the joy in the situation.
What a delight you went to the headquarters to get a phone. That is quite a hoot.
Also, your two little darlings are adobrable, and I know the fingerprints left on their hearts from this journey will be worthy of a children's book.
Rob, well, I've always respected and admired him because I knew my Alicia would settle for nothing but the best. Also, he writes well too. I so appreciate his daily e-mails- which are direct and well-worded. (That is the Englsih teacher in me coming out, I suppose.)
Alice, you have always been an expert language student, so I know you'll master your new language soon, and you'll be able to get anywhere at any time.
Enjoy your restaurant around the corner, I look forward to hearing about the friendships you will share with the women who live near you, and mostly know I love all of you. I look forward to hearing about all your other stepping stones.
love to you all,
Brandi
(Alice, I see our story writing paid off- truly a work of art.)
